icode Review Forum - June 2012
The icode http://www.icode.net.au/ is a voluntary industry code that is used by service providers to help fight cybercrime through protective systems and cooperation on reporting and disclosure. The icode has been recognised internationally and is being examined for adoption in the US and Europe.
The Internet Industry Association (www.iia.net.au) in conjunction with the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy and the Federal Attorney-General, launched this voluntary code of practice on 6 June 2010 for Australian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to improve cyber security for all consumers. The icode commenced operation in December 2010.
The IIA icode review will culminate with an IIA forum to be attended by icode participants and other interested parties during National Cyber Security Awareness Week 14 June 2012.
